Philip Speight is the deputy general manager of administration for both the Las Vegas Valley Water District (LVVWD) and the Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA).
The departments for which he is responsible include Finance, Information Technology, Human Resources, Support Services, Energy Management, and Public Services as well as the Springs Preserve, a cultural and educational community resource created through a public/private partnership.
Before joining LVVWD and SNWA, Speight served 19 years as the city manager of the City of Henderson. During his tenure with Henderson, Speight was one of the original partners who helped create the Water Authority in 1991. Speight has been active in the Southern Nevada community, serving on various boards and commissions. He is currently a member of the Colorado River Water Users Association, a member of the Henderson Community Foundation Board of Directors and is vice chair of the Silver State Energy Association.
Speight graduated from San Jose State University in California with a B.A. and M.A. He has been a resident of Nevada for more than 30 years. Speight and his wife, Kathee, have one son, Evan. He enjoys playing golf and fishing when time allows.
