H2O University Youth Education Program

The Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) created the H2O University youth education program as a way to educate tomorrow's leaders about water conservation and other water issues.

The program provides training and resources to teachers so they can help students learn how to protect our most precious natural resource: water.

H2OUniversity.org offers online tools

The program's official Web site H2OUniversity.org offers online tools, resources, games and information to help SNWA's youth education program reach teachers, parents and students.

The Web site is separated into three age-appropriate sections for children in grades Kindergarten through high school. It also includes a section for parents and teachers as well as a library of resources, including videos and multimedia demonstrations.

H2O University Program Goals

The program's goals are linked to the Clark County School District curriculum and Nevada State Standards:

  • Students will appreciate the unique qualities of water and the role water has played in the history and culture of Southern Nevada.

  • Students will conserve water resources in the choices they make as citizens and consumers.

  • Students will protect the quality of our water resources, both in Nevada and around the world.
