The Water Smart Landscapes rebate helps businesses convert water-thirsty grass and save money. SNWA will rebate businesses $1.50 for every square foot of grass removed and replaced with desert landscaping up to the first 5,000 square feet per site, per year. Beyond the first 5,000 square feet, SNWA will provide a rebate of $1 per square foot. The maximum award for any property in a fiscal year is $300,000.
SNWA projects a savings of 825,000 gallons of water per year for the average 15,000 square-foot conversion to water-smart landscaping.
