Once a year, Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) hosts Day with the Experts at the Gardens at the Springs Preserve. The free event demonstrates how easy it is to create a beautiful and functional outdoor retreat at home.
Local horticulturists teach classes on landscape design, vegetable gardening, fruit trees and much more. This year, a Whole Foods chef was on hand, teaching participants how to cook with herbs from their gardens. Also available are tours of the gardens and numerous activities for kids.
The event is also an opportunity for SNWA to recognize individuals, companies and organizations that have made a commitment to be water-smart with its Water Hero Awards ceremony.
