The Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) proudly recognized the winners of the 11th annual Landscape Awards competition. Numerous exceptional entries were submitted, making this year’s competition another success.
The finalists had strong, creative and functional designs, giving the panel of judges a challenge in determining the winners. This year, the SNWA recognized 15 winners in seven categories, and extended a special award for Environmental Stewardship.
The SNWA Landscape Awards recognize residents and businesses for choosing water-smart landscapes that are aesthetically pleasing. When properly irrigated, such landscapes can use up to 75 percent less water than turf.
“The awards are a perfect opportunity for us to exhibit how attractive desert landscaping can be, and allows us to recognize those who are saving water by embracing water-efficient landscaping,” said SNWA Conservation Manager Doug Bennett.
The landscapes were judged on overall beauty, efficient water use, plant selection and design.
