South Valley Facilities Expansion Project
The Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) has proposed the South Valley Facilities Expansion Project (SVFE) to meet water demand projections of the City of Henderson and Las Vegas Valley Water District.
SNWA is working in advance to secure the rights-of-way for the SVFE project, which would not begin construction for several years.
The project will increase the flexibility and reliability of the SNWA system to meet seasonal and regional needs. The SVFE will be completed in phases and is planned to be completely operational by 2027. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2011 with portions of the system operational in 2015.
