About this website

This website was designed according to Web Standards developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). It relies heavily on XHTML for its structure and CSS for visual design. This helps our pages load faster and allows our website to be viewed on a broader array of devices.

What does this mean to me?

Most people won't be able to tell the difference between this site and those developed without Web standards. However, if you have an older browser, such as Netscape or Internet Explorer 7 or lower, you won't be able to view this site as we intended. These older browsers were created before there were well-developed standards for the Web and often don't support the newer technologies recommended by the W3C.

What do I do?

If you have control over the browser you use, we suggest upgrading to one of the standards-compliant browsers listed below. This will improve your experience on the Web and allow you to view sites as the creators intended.

Windows OS Mac OS X
Google Chrome Google Chrome
Mozilla Firefox Mozilla Firefox
Internet Explorer 8 or higher Safari 2 and higher
Opera 9 or higher

Note: This is not intended to be a complete list of available standards-compliant browsers or a guarantee of browser compliance. The Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) does not endorse any particular Web browser.

Usability testing panel

To ensure our website is meeting the needs of our users, the Southern Nevada Water Authority conducts regular usability tests. Usability tests are carried out with the help of a participant panel, comprised of volunteers from the Southern Nevada community. Tests are administered remotely, take approximately 15-30 minutes, and may require installation of a browser extension or plugin to participate.

If you are interested in joining our usability testing panel or would like to learn more, please fill out the interest form or contact us.
