Echeveria, Hen and Chicks
Echeveria species
Echeveria is a large group of succulents from the Crassulaceae family with several species that make outstanding garden plants. Most species need some protection from the hot afternoon sun and all require good drainage. These spreading plants offer outstanding color with both their foliage and flowers and continually reproduce offsets or "chicks" expanding throughout the garden. Most species will lose their lower leaves during the cooler months and should be cleaned up to prevent fungus from forming and attacking the plant. Before planting set the container in the desired location to be sure it is suitable for the plant.
