Jerusalem Sage, Shrubby Jerusalem Sage
Phlomis fruticosa

Multi-stemmed, shrub-like perennial with a woody base. Whorls of golden yellow flowers appear at intervals along the upper section of the stems. Wooly, sage-like leaves are green to gray-green above with white undersides. Flowers attract bees and butterflies. Seed heads are ornamental in winter and are a food source for birds. Trim off spent flower stalks to encourage continued blooming into the summer. Trim off seed heads in late winter or early spring. Member of the mint family.
