Salvia chamaedryoides
Woody perennial. Low, mounding to spreading habit. Stems can be brittle and break easily. Narrow, oval to oblong, 1 inch long, downy, gray-green to silver-gray leaves. Aromatic. Spikes of small, clear blue to purple-blue trumpet flowers with a prominent 'lower' lip. Flowers in late spring to early summer and again sporadically in autumn. Trim off spent flower stalks to encourage continued blooming. Prune for form in late winter or early spring. Spreads by underground stems.
