Use this attractive, hardy grass as a low screen, a perennial border, part of a meadow, a native garden or a mass planting for accent. It provides interest in winter. This is a perennial warm season bunchgrass native to North America, where it occurs naturally from 55°N latitude in Canada southwards into the United States and Mexico. Switchgrass is a diverse species, with striking differences between plants. There are two "cytotypes" and several cultivars available within each.
